A complete privilege to deliver a presentation to the incredible medical professionals at their 2019 scientific meeting in St Andrews. Thank you to all for your warmth and hospitality as well as genuine interest in all things communication. A truly fabulous day

SERIOUS WORK - FUN PEOPLE
Having exchanged emails and presentation packages over the months, it was a pleasure to meet Shobhan and his project team at Glasgow’s Golden Jubilee Conference Centre. Delivering a condensed communication package including tactics for managing challenging conversations, we had some really helpful discussion and Q&A.
There are a lot of parallels between the medical profession and policing and it was a bit of a ‘mirror moment’ working with this team. The importance and seriousness of the work they do is unquestionable and with it a particular focus and no nonsense approach. On the other side, a sense of fun and light heartedness. It was ‘Christmas Jumper Day’ and they wore them well.
A particular thank you Kristen and Anna from the administration team who have been super-efficient with their communication. A joy to work with you both.
Relaxed chat, a few glasses of prosecco, great company with some fabulous ladies all added to the fun and success of this ladies evening. I joined the wonderful Jenny Copeland in delivering helpful but light hearted tactics for women in business.
Our brief from Jenny Stark from ASK Wealth Management was to create an educational but fun after dinner style talk - a new experience but one that worked so well.
Thank you for a wonderful evening and I hope you enjoy testing out those new skills at work and at home.
The sign of a great night is running for the last train …….. that is all :-)
NHS Teams are amongst the most self reflecting and passionate people I work with and their drive for improvement is super strong. There were 270 attendees at the PASC Conference sharing good practice, considering new approaches that could make a positive difference, and establishing how to change the elements that need changed.
I was proud to contribute over the 2 days offering helpful and immediately useable communication techniques and tactics.
A 1-2-1 consultation with a client in Costa Rica is a real treat, partly because working with Nater is always a joy and partly because there was a blissful backdrop of blue sky, light cloud and the sound of the sea. A little bit of paradise and I thank you for sharing :-)
We spent some time working through tasks from the Canadian Conference in September and the term ‘work’ didn’t feel that accurate. Happy, happy days :-)
Great to work with you again Nater - Enjoy your tropical paradise
There is something enjoyably mysterious about this 600+ year old university and today I met Karinna who interviewed me for their Professional Skills Curriculum, a filmed interview which took place in their Hebdomadar’s Room. (Hogwarts, hidden stairways and mystic panels understandably jump to mind) This was followed by an interactive lecture on Communicating Under Pressure delivered to a group of talented students who are working hard towards their degrees. Next lecture is 1st November addressing conflict resolution
What 3 words shall I use to describe the Canada Masterclass? Maybe I could negotiate 5 words as 3 doesn’t seem enough ……. actually there can be no word limits to match how amazing the experience and the attendees were. Let’s throw a few in to the mix - amazing, intense (in a good way), energising, high end, engaging, professional, fun, engaging ……. the list of positives continue.
When my 1-2-1 client Andrea Hayes asked me to consider delivering a two day masterclass in support of her first project at organising a conference I was honoured and it didn’t take long to say yes. I knew immediately that Andrea was a lady I could work with both remotely and in person.
Fair to say the 2 days returned more than any of us had anticipated. In negotiation we always look for a win/win situation where everyone feels they benefit from an experience. In Canada it was a win/win/win/win. Each and every client took a lot away and returned entirely positive feedback, Andrea learned a great deal from hosting a conference and delivered a great event, the venue benefitted from our visit and personally I met fabulous people, delivered a subject I love and learned a lot too. I always remember that every single person knows things I don’t which makes conversation so enjoyable.
It looks as if May 2019 will see a return visit and I look forward to meeting and working with more new people.
Thank you Andrea, Nater, Linda, Stephenie, Shen, Eric, Anna Lisa, Marianne, Mischelle, Ian and Matt. You are stars x
